Current Exhibitions

They put on some really good exhibitions that bring together works from all over the place. There's usually a focus on a particular artist or movement. The Renaissance exhibitions are particularly popular - they really show how that period changed everything in art. The exhibitions are usually well-curated and informative.

Permanent Highlights

Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' is here, which is much more vibrant in person than in photos. Da Vinci's 'Virgin of the Rocks' shows his incredible skill. Turner's seascapes are quite dramatic, and Constable's landscapes are very English. It's like a journey through art history, from medieval times to the 1900s.

Collection Types

It's all Western painting from about 1300 to 1900. Italian Renaissance stuff, Dutch Golden Age paintings, French Impressionists, British landscapes. Each section shows different approaches to painting and different time periods. It's quite comprehensive if you're interested in art history.
